The station consists of an side platform and island layout; Platform 1 has a large weatherboard building, while platform 2 & 3 (island platform) has a small steel shelter. A myki machine and a large Metcard ticket vending machine are located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard ticket vending machine is located at the entrance to platform 2 & 3. An underpass is situated at the Flinders Street end of the station. History Mont Albert Station opened on 11 August 1890.[1] Track amplification works resulted in the Box Hill bound platform being rebuilt and converted to an island platform in the 1960s.[2] Services on the third track from East Camberwell extended though the station to Box Hill in 1971.[3] The station was one of four used for the first trials of the myki ticketing system on the rail network, carried out in August 2008 by Kamco staff.
