"Freaks" Single by Live from the album Secret Samadhi B-side "Love My Way" Released 1997 Format 7" Limited Edition, CD Genre Alternative rock Post-grunge Hard rock Length 4:53 Label Radioactive Records Writer(s) Live Producer Jay Healy, Live Live singles chronology "Lakini's Juice" (1997) "Freaks" (1997) "Turn My Head" (1997) "Freaks" is a song by alternative rock group Live, which was released as the second single from their 1997 album, Secret Samadhi. The song was not released as a commercially purchasable single in the United States, and was therefore not eligible to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. However, it reached #5 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks music chart;[1] the #13 position on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks music chart;[2] and the #73 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay music chart.[3] The song reached #60 on the UK Singles Chart. The U.S. promo release of the single used the same artwork as the "CD 2" single release in the UK. The single was also bundled as a bonus disc on some copies of the album Secret Samadhi in Australia. After refusing the "milk", the assorted "freaks" of the bar subdue him and force him to drink the liquid from a champagne bottle. The song is about intolerance so the man is in a milk bar and is looked down on because he won't drink his coffee with milk.
