This is the biggest assembly consistency in area wise in guntur district. Initially the people of surname Kurapati were migrated to this place, so this village was got named with their surname. Pedakurapadu has fifteen thousand population including Chowdaries, Arya Vysyas, BC, SC, ST and Muslims living together. Pedakurapadu was the major panchayathi having the facilities like water supply, lower primary school, upper primary school, 30-bed government hospital, petrol bunk, bus station and railway station .
