Not to be confused with the unrelated 1991 CITV series Finders Keepers (1991 UK game show). Finders Keepers (BBC) Format Game Show Starring Richard Stilgoe Country of origin  United Kingdom No. of seasons 5[1] Production Producer(s) BBC Running time 30 minutes Broadcast Original channel BBC1 Picture format 4:3 Original run 20 February 1981[1] – 1 March 1985[1] Finders Keepers was a children's game show broadcast by the BBC from 1981 to 1985[1]. The show combined a quiz element with a computerised version of the game Battleships. Two teams of three primary school-aged pupils would compete against each other.[2] On scoring a "hit" at the Battleships game, the team had to answer a question to gain the associated points.[2] The show was also notable for host Richard Stilgoe playing the theme on a synthesiser live in the studio at the beginning[1], as well as the use of the phonetic alphabet to indicate the square on the battleship grid.[1] The game of Battleships was played on a 7x7 grid[1] and ran on a BBC Microcomputer.[1] References ^ a b c d e f g h "Finders Keepers (1)". ukgameshows.com. http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Finders_Keepers_(1).
