Contents 1 Biography 1.1 Early life and education 1.2 Career 2 References Biography Early life and education Simon Peter St.John Bowthorpe was born in 1964 in London, the grandson of industrialist Jack Bowthorpe, CBE, founder of Spirent PLC. He was educated at Eton College and Schiller International University. Career Bowthorpe began his career working at Grey Advertising and Young & Rubicam in Madrid, Spain. In 1993, he founded talent agency Creative Management Group and at the end of 1994 founded Mediaplus,[1] the first European media agency that allowed clients to buy advertising space with their own goods and services. In 2001, Bowthorpe left the company to become a championship Spanish dressage rider, winning silver medals at the Madrid finals in 2002 and 2003.[2] From 2003, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Media Force, S.A. and developed the business in the United States and United Kingdom under the Media Force One brand name. In 2009, he joined B&E Executive Search as a Consultant. [3] He is the founder of the Old Etonian Scuba Diving Society [4] and a member of the United States Parachute Association, the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain,the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the Anglo-Arab Horse Breeders' Society [5] and the Royal Spanish Riding Federation.
