He was a pupil of the painter Francisco Ribalta. He painted along with Pablo Pontons paintings for the Church of Maria in Morella. His pupils included Vicente Salvador Gómez and Jose Ramírez (painter) (1622–1686). A pupil, Joaquin Eximeno, married his daughter.
